Clink moving the Brougham End Jumbotron?
I stare into Centurylink field every day from my office. In fact, yesterday they started to tear up the old turf. Puzzling however is that it looks like they have removed the big screen from the Brougham End and now have windows instead--the windows stretching between the Fox Sports Lounge windows. I can't tell if the windows are into the sports lounge, or if they are some type of suites or sports desks. Given the Hawks Nest screen is smaller, I can't imagine they would only have that screen. Anyone know whats up at the Clink?

We've asked the club for official comment
they aren’t answering yet.
I know I suggested to senior execs several years ago to replace the stats boards with video board so they could be custom used for each sport.

Thanks Dave
They still have equipment on the third level over where the board was so I wonder if they are going to start building a board up there, where the Toyota truck sits. I wonder why they are mum. If I can get my hands on a good camera I will take a pic.

I can't imagine they'd do that
The pole for the 12th man flag would constantly be in the way.
It’d be pretty cool if they’re putting video boards up instead of the stats boards though.
Any update?
I’m pretty curious because I sit in the north end and this is the video board I primarily look at. It’d be awesome if they were upgrading it to HD.
I wonder if Matt Gaschk will answer any questions...
He is hosting the live blog during the Sounders v Whitecaps scrimmage at 3 today.
He is taking questions 20-30 minutes before the 3 pm kick
Here is his report from 1:20 pm today that has some details of the drills and light practice sessions prior to this afternoons scrimmage.
Whether he knows anything about the new video boards is probably pretty low
I bet with him being in Casa Grande for the past week he hasn’t been updated on the remodel but it is worth asking him anyway…
For what it's worth...
I went to the International District for lunch today and on my drive back saw the south end of the stadium. They’re definitely constructing something on the top level near the truck but it doesn’t appear to be a video screen. Whatever it is, it looks like it’s framing the truck that sits up there.
That said, I didn’t have a great view so it’s possible I’m wrong.
Now they have whatever they were working on covered
Mmm. Perhaps they read this blog. In any event, they could well be putting the Jumbotron back where it was. However, the crane and other equipment is still there, so would they construct a screen and hoist it into place? FYI. Looks like the concrete of the filed is exposed.

Thanks for the pic, definitely looks like something is happening with the video board.
Also, just a tip: if you use the link button just above the comment box, it will keep weird URL formatting from breaking links.

Hopefully you don't mind

Probably should go through the link as the bigger pic shows it much better.
It's a great picture. Almost desktop worthy.
Someone needs to get this shot on a game day. .

I know that most screens like this come apart in panels
And if I recall correctly the top left panel was having issues. Perhaps they are just replacing that panel?
They had the whole thing down
I wish I had the camera when the whole board was down. There are windows behind it. Now its covered back up, but I am not sure that is a screen up. I can still see the windows behind it.

Another current pic
You can see the new pitch going in today. They are also taking down the “Mitsubishi Electric” sign under what could be the screen. If it is a screen, it would be funny that there are windows behind it. The crane is no longer there.

No fears on moving the Screen
The new one is up and they are testing it today. http://pic.twitter.com/Ej0DhA3C It does appear quite a bit brighter than the old one.
