We don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves, but Saturday seemed like a positive one in Steve Zakuani's journey back from his leg injury.
Here's what the official practice report had to say about his performance: "Perhaps the best highlight came in the final minute as Steve Zakuani, who played the full 40 minutes, flew down the left side with blazing speed. Zakuani then did a series of step-overs and cut to the middle before striking the ball at goal. His shot sailed just over the crossbar as time ran out."

That one
brought a smile to my face. It’s just one step, but a big one.
Watching the video they posted
from training and seeing Steve running with the ball at his feet was great. I know he still has a long way to go, but you can see he’s already come so far! Can’t wait to hear the roar the first time he comes on the pitch at the Clink.

Is the reserve league schedule out yet?
I’ve never been to a reserve league game before. I’d love to go when Zak starts playing. Is it free? Do I have buy tickets?
Great news about Zak. It too brought a huge smile to my face.

games are free, but they ask for donations that go to a charity
parking cost $5 last year…cash only.

Still
I hope that Brian Mullan is a victim of a training camp prank and finds all of his boots filled with shaving cream. #ClassyMullanHate
You will hear us on Brougham, you will hear us on Occidental, you will hear us on King. Our yachts are all around you, there is no escape.
I hope Zak sent Brian Mullan a Hallmark card letting him know that he forgives him.
And I hope Zak misspelled his name as Bryan Mullen. #ClassyMullanForgiveness
I fucking hate you Mariners

Scar
When you study this picture you see a very nasty gash/scar in his lower right leg. I think I was just expecting to see a scar but it looks like he’s lost a lot of muscle in the operation. Wow ! Were pulling for you to return Steve and glad it seems to be getting better. I can’t wait to be there when you step back on the field. It’s going to be very loud !

A very big scar indeed.
The first thing that I noticed when viewing the photo was how obvious and gnarly it looks. That is what I would call one very large and in your face reminder of what happened to you that will be you the rest of your life.
Any idea about streams or otherwise for the exhibition matches
to be played the next few weeks? Haven’t found any myself and would like a chance to see everyone play before the big cuts.
And very, very happy for Steve.

SoundersFC.com will have a liveblog for the game against Vancouver
and likely highlights after word, but very doubtful for a feed as there is no film of it.
Considering that’s the only announced game we can’t answer for others, though there is likely to be a community shield again

hopefully its against the Galaxy
I would really like for the community shield to catch on in MLS. Its a great way to kick off the season with the MLS Cup champs (LA) vs USOC champs (SEA).
