UPDATE: A reminder that Steve's memorial is tomorrow. You can donate to his memorial Melanoma Research Fund online, and cash donations at the memorial will be matched up to $5,000 by Sounders FC.

Last week a Sounder supporter passed on the way to watch the team face Jaguares de Chiapas. Steve Sarina's early passing was from a case of melanoma. There are many ways that one could channel their anger or dispair for such an event, but for the Emerald City Supporters the chosen path is simple - celebrate Steve's life and raise money to kick cancer's ass.
This Saturday, March 10th, the ECS will be throwing a little party. Jeff Parke and a few other players will be there. Steve's family is driving up as well. The party starts at 3 PM and goes until it doesn't. Temple Billiards will be hosting the event.
The two most important things about the event are probably best told by quoting them from the ECS;
Steve would like to remind us all to have our moles checked/looked at. One doctor visit can save your life! So next time you go in for a physical or because of your cough bring it up!UPDATE — Sounders FC will be matching any donations made on Saturday to the Melanoma Research Fund! Thanks to the club for the generosity!
The notice is late, but the cause is grand.
