According to Goal.com the Seattle Sounders are in very spirited discussions with Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic.
Sources confirmed to Goal.com that the 32 year-old Olic is in "advanced discussions" to sign a contract with the Sounders. The former starter has seen his role slip to young emerging stars such as Mario Gomez and he is said to be very interested in what MLS has to offer. Olic has 127 appearances for the German Bundesliga squad and has notched 42 goals for the club. He has also spent time with Hamburger SV.
Olic has his current contract end with Munich following this season and will be a free agent who would not require a transfer fee from the Sounders.
Olic would surely give the Sounders the star they have desperately been seeking to pair with Fredy Montero and would give the team arguably the best trio of forwards in the league along with recently acquired Eddie Johnson.
(also)
This deal would mean that something has to give in regards to the Sounders three designated players, likely the restructuring of a contract like Rosales.
