Gershon Koffie Suspended for One Game

Stay connected for news and updates

Vancouver Whitecaps Midfielder Gershon Koffie was suspended by the MLS Disciplinary Committee for one game and fined an undisclosed amount in the wake of his actions on Saturday afternoon at Century Link Field. The suspension was handed down for the dangerous play where he kicked Andy Rose in the chest. Rose is now listed as "out" on the latest injury report with what is being called "fractured ribs."

The fine was issued for the inappropriate gesture he made after the play. Koffie will miss this weekend's match against the Portland Timbers. This marks the second suspension that Koffie has had in as many weeks. He missed the match prior to the game against the Seattle Sounders for yellow card accumulation.
