Montero does a completely Montero thing and scores a golazo at Portland. (animated)

The King of Cascadia (goals).

We've come to expect big moments from Fredy Montero in Cascadia derby matches. Just like the trees shed leaves at the turn from summer to fall, Montero scoring spectacular goals versus Portland and Vancouver is something that just happens annually. In the latest iteration of the so called I-5 rivalry, in Seattle Sounders FC's second away match at Portland Timbers this 2012 season, Montero gave the national TV audience a goal to behold. After a injury restart, GK Michael Gspurning powered the ball directly downfield towards Eddie Johnson which ultimately flew over EJ's head. Montero making a great supporting run, got himself into the path of the ball and boom - golazo. Everything Fredy does for this goal is breathtaking to watch - from the run, the control, the touch and vision - its hard not to be impressed.
