Sounder at Heart's podcast takes a look at last week's loss to the Earthquakes and ahead to next week's game against the Whitecaps
Not at all what we had in mind. This was supposed to be the week where we were talking about our renewed quest for the Supporters' Shield. Instead, we're suddenly doing a lot of soul searching about whether or not this team is capable of making a run at a MLS Cup.
Aaron and I both voice some frustrations over the 2-1 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes, with Aaron taking particular umbrage with the style of play used by the undisputed best team in MLS. We both manage to find some solace in the fact that the Sounders were without Mauro Rosales and Eddie Johnson, even if coach Sigi Schmid seems to think they would not have made much of a difference in that lack-luster first-half performance.
Some scheduling snafus led to us doing the show without a guest for the first time in recent memory, but we still manage to put together a somewhat coherent scouting report of the Vancouver Whitecaps. That has turned into a rather huge game, and not just because the Cascadia Cup hangs in the balance.
As we do every week, we close out the show by taking questions from our listeners. If you'd like to get your questions answered, make sure to follow us on Twitter (@NosAudietis) or email us at nosaudietis(at)gmail(dot)com.
