Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

With left back looming as a trouble spot on the roster heading into the 2013 MLS season, Seattle Sounders FC improved its depth at the position by selecting Dylan Remick.

Despite his playing college soccer on the opposite coast, Seattle Sounders FC selected left-footed left back Dylan Remick with its second and final pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. A player for Brown University, Remick gets up and down the line all game long, putting in crosses from the left flank.

Modern outside backs are expected to do much more than defend, and Remick fits the role. His scouting report on the MLS website says he "can run all day" and that he "looks to bomb forward."

Remick was First-Team All Ivy League for three straight seasons, and his LinkedIn profile says he is a research assistant for the Cognitive, Linguistics and Psychology program and a biology major at Brown.

In his senior season, Remick played 94 minutes in a 4-3 overtime victory at University of Washington in September.

Before college, he ran track in high school, setting indoor and outdoor records in the 400-meter dash. He likes country music, and he listens to Taylor Swift before games.
