I am crossing the majestic Cascade mountain range that divides our great state with the missus to take in a football match midweek.
Granted, Sunday morning there were doubts.
I now have to temper my expectations with what I have seen in the past 24 hours, what I know about this side and what I don't know.
So here's what I expect:
I expect to see Clint Dempsey take the pitch. Be it 30 minutes, 20 or 10, I expect to see Deuce on the field.
I expect to see Obafemi Martins up front. I think Oba-Neagle gives us our best shot sans EJ and I want to see the Oba flip live.
I expect to see a defense that has watched tape, reviewed their flaws and fixed the oh so obvious gaps from the Colorado match.
I expect grit, toughness, and the attacking intensity I saw v. RSL, where the boys battered the attacking third like a storm at sea, with wave after wave like ten foot breakers battering the defense into submission.
I expect to have a great time, drinking, singing and supporting my boys.
I expect to see the Cascadia Cup raised Wednesday night.
I expect that it is not the only trophy we raise this year.
