Brad Evans and Eddie Johnson do not like the goal posts. (Animated)

Brad Evans' one-time shot nearly curls into the net

In the 2013 Seattle Sounders FC home opener things did not carom the home team's way and one quick chip was the difference in this match. If not for the heroic efforts of the Montreal Impact's goal posts, this match may have ended in a much happier fashion for the Sounders. Both Brad Evans and Eddie Johnson were denied by the visiting team's posts on a night where our best was not to be seen. This week's animated gifs show us just how close we came to victory.

Sounders FC's Brad Evans with an excellent one-time drive at goal that just misses:

After a great cross by Leo Gonzalez and a great touch by Alex Caskey, Eddie Johnson just about levels the match at 1-1:
