After tweeting some time ago that he was looking for a new team today the Seattle Sounders issued a formal announcement that forward Babayele Sodade was waived. Sodade never played a minute in a First Team match and spent nearly all of the 2012 on the Injured List.
Sodade raised eyebrows when he out jumped the vertical test at the 2012 combine. He was then the 34th overall pick in that SuperDraft.
This move leaves the Sounders with three open roster spots, but has no effect on available International Slots nor on the Salary Cap. Seattle only has three natural forwards on the roster at this time with several midfielders who can and do slot up top at times.
