Eddie Johnson has been one of the more polarizing figures among Seattle Sounders fans, mainly because we all know how good he can be. Ahead of Sunday's Gold Cup final between the United States and Panama, Rob Stone and Fox sat down with the Sounders forward and talked to him about his journey from out-of-contract player to one of the top scorers on the national team.
There aren't necessarily a whole lot of new revelations, but I do think this provides some interesting insight into what makes Johnson tick. He talks about being in a state of depression during that period where he was out of contract and also admits that his training habits had fallen off considerably during his final days in Europe.
If you want a little longer look at Johnson, Grant Wahl did a longer feature on him over at Sports Illustrated. Definitely worth a read if you haven't seen it yet.
