Sigi Schmid consistently says that he does not like to plan lineups several days ahead of a match. He says that any time he's done that injuries or other issues come up that force him to change things. Take this week for example. A Monday lineup idea would probably have included Leo Gonzalez and Clint Dempsey. Now both are nearly certainly out of the XI and maybe out of the 18.

This leaves more significant changes at left back than it does at whatever the Dempsey role is. Mainly a forward so far with Seattle Sounders FC, Clint has been the shiniest spare part in MLS history due to call-ups, fitness and injury. That means that his impact is hard to judge, except in the standings.
At left back the options are simple - Marc Burch (he of the improving midfield presence) and Brad Evans (the utility tool). Burch would provide more service to the head of Eddie Johnson while Evans would start at one of the rare places he has not yet taken the field. Starting Evans there would likely mean that Adam Moffat starts as the other CM and Lamar Neagle starts on the left.
With Burch the more natural left back, his starting would be less of a surprise, but also lead to questions about which two of Neagle, Evans, Moffat and Andy Rose play at left mid and center mid. If the answer is Lamar on the left and Brad in the middle it puts them both at their least useful of regular roles, but also places the most talent on the pitch overall. Other answers are less talented overall, but may be better fits.
At this point the best guess for the lineup is;
