A state lawmaker wants to attract a MLS expansion franchise at some point in the future, but not as the 23rd or 24th team the league has set for the end of the decade.
According to a report from the Goat Parade, Chivas USA may soon be re-branded. A company associated with the MLS franchise applied for trademarks on two potential names and corresponding logos. Chivas USA owner Jorge Vergara later confirmed that re-branding is a possibility.
