As the previous teaser images suggested, the Seattle Sounders' third shirt will be black with what highlights that appear to be a sort of neon green, according to an image leaked by Footyheadlines.com. In addition to these shirts, Sounder at Heart has learned that the shorts and socks will be the same shade of green.
Although the Sounders had an all-shale kit last year, this is a pretty new look for the Sounders. For one, the Sounders' previous third kits were predominantly one color ("electricity yellow" in 2010-11 and "super cyan" in 2012-13). These kits provide a much more stark juxtaposition with the shirts being quite a bit darker than last year's highly popular shale, which will presumably still be in use. It is unclear how often the Sounders will use these kits, but in previous seasons they've worn them for road games against the Portland Timbers, for friendlies and during non-league matches.
These kits will also be adorned with the 40th anniversary patch, which the team previously announced would be used eight times this season.
The kits will be officially unveiled on March 3 during an event at the Sounders ProShop.
