Goals are extremely valuable in soccer, perhaps nowhere more so than in the Premier League. According to Sporting Intelligence, each goal in the Premier League is worth £1.5 million -- up from £915,000 a year ago. The increase is largely due to the league's lucrative new TV deals.
Rangers FC has borrowed a total of $2.5 million to assist the club's cash flow over the next few months. $830,000 of the money has been loaned by Sandy Easdale, the club's chairman. The remainder was borrowed from Laxey Partners, an investment group. The loans must be repaid by the beginning of September.
Former Rangers commercial director Imran Ahmad is asking the courts to seize $1.25 million of that money because he claims that he is owed unpaid bonuses.
