Kurtis Larson of the Toronto Sun has picked the Sounders to finish the 2014 MLS regular season at the top of the Western Conference table. He also picked Sigi Schmid to win the Coach of the Year award and Stefan Frei to win Goalkeeper of the Year. He has Frei and Chad Marshall in the MLS Best XI and rates the Sounders as the best best to win the MLS Cup (given the 10/1 odds) and Obafemi Martins as the best best to win the Golden Boot (given the 25/1 odds).
1090 The Fan's Bill Swartz offered his preview of the Sounders season.
Sounders FC kicked off its 40th anniversary season in style with this video on Instagram yesterday:
The USMNT U17 squad was announced yesterday for the upcoming tour of the Pacific Northwest. The league is all geared up for the season to start.

Yesterday, MLS announced the 16 matches that will be broadcast on Univision Deportes this season. Two Sounders matches are included: March 22 at Montreal and April 26 vs. Colorado. The SB Nation season predictions are also in. You probably won't like who is picked to win the MLS Cup, but at least the Sounders appear in the top 3 in the Western Conference.
Whether you've never watch a MLS match or you've been watching it since the league debuted in 1996, you should check out SB Nation's MLS beginner's guide.
Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank and MLS commissioner Don Garber watched the friendly between Mexico and Nigeria at the Georgia Dome on Wednesday night in Blank's suite. It's probably reasonable to assume that they spent some time discussing plans to add a MLS expansion team in Atlanta.
The newest episode of MLS Insider is out, just in time for the season to start.
The Columbus Crew announced a new TV deal with Time Warner Cable. This is a bit of a controversial move because local residents who don't have a subscription to Time Warner won't have access to the TV broadcasts of games that aren't nationally televised. Columbus also signed 6'7" rookie forward Adam Bedell.
DC United finalized Eddie Johnson's new DP contract yesterday. They also added Inter Milan scout Enzo Concina to its coaching staff. Concina will maintain his scouting role with Inter in addition to his new coaching duties in MLS.

Jose Mourinho was recently asked about his thoughts on Jürgen Klinsmann and the USMNT:
2014 World Cup
We are now less than 100 days from the start of the World Cup, but a couple of key players reached milestones with their national teams over the weekend. Tim Cahill became Australia's all-time leading scorer, after netting a brace in the Socceroos 4-3 loss to Ecuador. Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo reached the same milestone with his national team, although he claims that he isn't interested in records.
