This week in Sounders gifs; Subtitle: Clint and Oba are drift compatible (Animated)

Clint Dempsey has a new handshake buddy in Osvaldo Alonso.

After almost letting this game bounce right over their heads, the Sounders came roaring back to beat FC Dallas down in Frisco, Texas. Watching this team starting to come together has been a mixture of a few nervy moments mixed with sheer jaw-dropping minutes of play, mainly behind the surging Clint Dempsey. However it is hard to definitively say which has been more fun to watch - Clint's goal barrage or the play of his teammates around him. While there haven't been many *obagoals yet, the showing of Obafemi Martins this season is something to behold - the target, linking, and creative side of his portfolio. If "Pitch Black" was the name of a jaeger from the movie Pacific Rim, it's pilots would be Oba and Clint and once those two are fully 'drift compatible' - what an offensive weapon that will be.

"There are things you can't fight - acts of God. You see a hurricane coming, you get out of the way. But when you're in a Jaeger, you can finally fight the hurricane. You can win." - Raleigh Becket (Pacific Rim)

The passing buildup that lead to Clint Dempsey's winning goal. Osvaldo Alonso switching the point of attack and then the immediate cutting inside by Marco Pappa set the stage:

Obafemi Martins completes the backheel pass which eventually springs Pappa down the wing. Just out there "trying sh*t" Dempsey style:

Here's the proof that Oba and Clint Dempsey are drift compatible. Martins doesn't even seem to look up but just knows Clint is going to make that run through on goal. (Trying sh*t Dempsey style, part II):

Clint and Ozzie celebrate Deuce's free kick golazo with some hand jive business:

Said Dempsey free kick goal. His magic is real:

A post-goal, slightly stunned, very confused Chris Seitz:
