Seattle Reign's Nahomi Kawasumi gets pizza with teammates and gets confused when Dylan Remick shows up...

Since Laura Harvey went out and signed a ton of international players over the offseason, my interest in the Reign has picked up considerably. (admittedly, I was a bit sore that Alex Morgan went to the Thorns and thus didn't follow the first season as much, especially after seeing her in the Sounders FC women's squad just a year prior)

At any rate, I became a fan of Nahomi Kawasumi after watching clips of her performance against Sweden (especially this ridiculous goal). Turns out she has a blog that she updates regularly...in Japanese (which I don't understand at all). Notwithstanding that, with the aid of google translate, I pieced together the fact that Naho went out with a bunch of Reign teammates for pizza, and apparently, through the whole evening, she couldn't for the life of her figure out who this dude (Remick) was.

From her blog: (via rough internet translation)

"Finally, there was some guy there. Not a team mate ....who was he?

Friend of someone ? Boyfriend ? Older brother ? Brother ? Dad ? Grandpa ? Children of relatives ? Secretly a woman?

I go back home without knowing who he was.

So later, I email Bev (Forward Beverly Goebel) and asked who he was.

He is a player for the local Sounders FC and the friend of everyone! (we watched them play)"

(from Naho's blog - apparently there was a little boy that asked for her autograph as well?)

At any rate, it's pretty awesome to see that the players from both clubs hang out- and also pretty endearing in seeing how the different international players are acclimating to life in the United States, something that we probably take for granted. Now I gotta go catch a match.
