Cox waived by RSL
Raphael Cox (Stadium/Highline/UW/TacomaTide product) has been waived by RSL. If there was Free Agency you think he'd get a look here?
denz over at RSLSoapBox thinks this was a mistake. Maybe Fewing (Coach, Kitsap Pumas) gets this guy on roster as well...

"A lot of the guys have built on last year. Roger (Levesque) is an example. I thought Taylor (Graham) before he got injured was doing well. Mike Fucito certainly has stepped up and is more aware of the rhythm and what needs to be done. Those are guys that are obviously aware of things. You also have some rookies in (David) Estrada and Michael Seamon is out here again training with us right now. We’re also going to push some people. So that’s going to be a big plus. But even the other guys, whether you are dealing with (Osvaldo) Alonso, or you’re dealing with Brad Evans, they’ve all made advancements. Brad being called into the national team a couple of times now, going through their January camp, all of those experiences make you a better player, make you a more confident player."

Reading Tea Leavues continues
Two Sounders fans with Levesque, Fucito and Neagle at a Starbucks in Madrid. They're serving my favorite coffee too.
You can read Matt's recap of the trip at the Sounder's site.
There's No Money in European Football
This is a great look at how English and European Football is not longer the correct business decision for the wealthy. It is not just an annual loss, but a loss at time of sale as well.
Another marquee name on the Beavers spring schedule comes Friday, March 26 when they travel north to take on the Seattle Sounders starting at 11 a.m. The Beavers will head to Seattle and train for a few days before the match and be there for the MLS season opener between the Sounders and the Union and Mwanga.
"The special piece about our game against Seattle is that the night before they are playing Philadelphia in first game of the year for the Major League Soccer season and Danny (Mwanga) will be playing for Philly in Seattle," Simmons said. "We're going to go up and train for a couple days and I'm sure he'll come to practice to see his friends and his teammates. We'll watch him play on Thursday night and then Friday morning we'll play the members of the team that didn't get many minutes."
OSU Beaver spring soccer to face Seattle Sounders
What do you do when you don't have an official Reserve League? You schedule matches that you can against local colleges and PDL sides. It would seem that the Sounders are active in starting to schedule these.
Sounder FC goes web-culture mainstream
Very off topic but on topic none-the-less, Seattle area based Penny-Arcade.com featured the logo of Sounder FC prominently on a character's clothing.
Of course, the cartoon itself has nothing to do with MLS or soccer... I just find it cool that such a widely read web comic decided to pay homage to the rave green.
Last week Portsmouth, of the Premier League, were given a seven-day stay of execution from a winding up order brought over an unpaid tax bill of £7.4 million.
On the same day, winding up orders brought against Cardiff City, of the Championship, and League One club Southend United, were also adjourned.
From the draft plans being studied in Whitehall a body named something like the Office of Football Regulation could eventually emerge.
It would have the power to rule on the level of debt clubs were allowed to run up compared with turnover, and could also demand more supporter involvement in a club's management structure, including at board level and among shareholders.
The source added: "Many feel this would be a better way ahead than the current free-for all marketplace".
Portsmouth, Cardiff City and Southend United threatening the FA/EPL with Government Regulation
Platini is already trying to reign the Free Market in UEFA in by launching debt limitations starting in 2011 and now the British Government might get involved to include MANDATING Supporter involvement in club decisions
The problem, however (and it’s a good problem to have, frankly), is that like many of my colleagues at SBNation I’m looked upon by my community to deliver information in addition to opining on it. In other words, I’m hardly a normal fan. A normal fan doesn’t get asked his opinion on local sports talk radio with regularity. A normal fan doesn’t get to have an exclusive interview with the head coach he once wanted fired. A normal fan doesn’t get to schmooze with team executives and the mainstream media guys who cover the team after games. You know, like actual journalists do. Heck, most normal fans aren’t even season ticket holders (unfortunately due to professional teams pricing true fans out of their arenas), which grants you an additional morsel of respect with the organization because you can always say to a player, coach or team executive: "Hey, give me five minutes…I pay your salary." (And make no mistake about it, I’ve said that many times and it never gets old!)
For me, I've always operated the blog as a kind of "column" or "written sports radio" a mix of news, features and analysis, but while Steve Kelley gets access, as does Jim Moore I only have access thanks to the wonder that is the Seattle Sounders. If I covered any other sport in this town I would not have access, instead I would just be seen as "a blog."
Hopefully I ride the medium between news/analysis/feature.

Revolution Get a Bit More Supporter Friendly
"This is your chance to have your voice heard! Join C.O.O. Brian Bilello and V.P. of Player Personnel Michael Burns for the 2010 New England Revolution Supporter’s Summit. If you have a question for the team’s Front Office, this is your chance to ask it.
Please contact your supporters group leader for full information."
After the Supporters Summit the League worked on a few efforts to improve communication. Seems like New England is taking a next step, and a big one for them.
