Combined with their seven national team players, four college draft picks, four free agents and six supplemental picks the Reign should have a full roster of players to choose from.
What should be the final piece to the Seattle Reign's 2013 roster was put into place on Thursday when the NWSL team picked six players in the Supplemental Draft. Aside from trades, this completes the final allocation methord for building the first-year team.
The perhaps bigger news is that the Reign are reportedly close to landing Veronica Perez in a trade. She was the Sounders Women's leading scorer last year and a product of UW.
Round 1, No. 2 overall -- D Nikki Krzysik: 25-year-old defender last played with the Philadelphia Independence of the WPS.
Round 2, No. 10 overall -- D Lauren Barnes: Spent the 2011 WPS season Philadelphia Independence. Was a third-round pick after being a somewhat prolific playmaker at UCLA where she finished with eight goals and 23 assists. Her final two seasons saw her score five goals with 16 assists.
Round 3, No. 18 overall -- F Laura Heyboer: Michigan State product who was drafted by Sky Blue FC in the fourth round of the 2012 WPS Draft. The forward scored 57 goals in four years with the Spartans, including 18 as a senior and 21 as a freshman. Was also a member of the United States U-23 team.
Round 4, No. 26 overall -- F Liz Bogus: The forward spent 2010-11 with Boston Breakers, scoring three goals in 22 games.
Round 5, No. 34 overall -- GK Michelle Betos: Is coming off a UEFA Champions League run with Apollon (Cyprus) in which they advanced to the Round of 32.
Those players will join the seven players allocated from national teams, four players picked in the college draft and four free agents to make up the bulk of the team.
