Nos Audietis Episode 40: Talking Eddie Johnson Trade With Adrian Hanauer

As you may have heard, there was a rather big trade on Friday. Fan favorites and, more importantly, friends of the show Mike Fucito and Lamar Neagle were dealt to the Montreal Impact in exchange for Eddie Johnson. We spend a lot of time going over that one with Aaron, Dave and myself all have significantly different opinions of it (disagreement is great for radio!).
We also had a chance to pick Adrian Hanauer's brain about the deal. He explains that the Seattle Sounders have had their eyes on Johnson for quite some time and admits that he expected there to be an initial wave of negative reaction.
The show wasn't all Eddie, though. We also sat down with ECS co-president Greg Mockos and discussed some of the plans for 2012. In short, expect more big things.
The final segment we finally got around to discussing what would have been the big news of the week: Hope Solo and Sydeny LeRoux signing with the Sounders Women. And as always we answer some of your questions! To get your questions answered please make sure to follow @NosAudietis on Twitter and also, if you haven't already "Like" our Facebook Page!
One more thing: We'd like to introduce Full Pull Wines as the show's first sponsor. We're are still looking for more sponsors, now that we have a fancy new studio. If you're interested, shoot us an email at NosAudietis(at)gmail(dot)com. If you'd like to advertise on the site as well that can be arranged too.

Nos Audietis Episode 39: Roster Talk, Preseason Scheduling And More

Like most of the Seattle Sounders web community this week's major topic is the First XI, the gameday 18 and who will make the roster 30. This week's guest was probably the most difficult booking ever for Jeremiah and Aaron as they had to convince Dave to join them in the new yet-to-be-named studio. Hopefully the conversation doesn't sound too crowded, but the ability to look each other in the eyes should lead to a high quality three-way live discussion.
Segment two mainly focuses on the Sounders preseason schedule, including the free game against Jaguares (listen to Dave butcher that name), but also on the pacing and structure of the preseason. We also get onto a bit of a tangent as to whether the LA Galaxy should continue to loan Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane. Furthering their loans would make them underdogs for a very compelling matchup against Toronto FC. The second leg of that match-up will be on after the Beat Santos Viewing Party (RSVP to attend).
The third segment is meainly the twitter Q&A. Unlike most weeks the Q&A is solely serious team oriented questions. Topics like break out player, captaincy and the nature of scouting are covered. Some of the skipped submitted questions were quite funny and have been tabled for future reference.
We're are still looking for sponsors, now that we have a fancy new studio. If you're interested, shoot us an email to NosAudietis(at)gmail(dot)com. If you'd like to advertise on the site as well that can be arranged too.

Nos Audietis, Episode 38: The Winds Of Change

The offseason is now kicking into gear as training camp is open and the Seattle Sounders' first cuts should be announced shortly. In this week's episode of Nos Audietis, we discuss the Sounders' new partnership with the Tacoma Tide and their subsequent rebranding as Sounders U-23. The team will play in the PDL and give Sounders Academy products an opportunity to stay close to come during the offseason.
We also take a look at how that partnership could affect the Sounders Women and Aaron declares his desire to see more attention to be focused in that direction, something that gained some significance with news that the WPS has suspended its 2012 season.
Also on the docket this week is discussion of the MLS All-Star Game and the lack of United States men's national team games being played in the Pacific Northwest. Jeremiah and Aaron mildly disagree about their views on the All-Star Game and, shockingly, agree that it's high time that the USMNT head back to our neck of the woods.
One programming note: Nos Audietis has decided to join the cool kids over at NASN, home of Best Soccer Show. We're also actively looking for sponsors, now that we have a fancy new studio. If you're interested, shoot us an email to NosAudietis(at)gmail(dot)com.

Nos Audietis Episode 37: Is There A Draft In Here?

The snow is here and is there a better way to spend an hour or so of your snow day other than listening to Nos Audietis? We think not.
In this highly educational episode, Aaron teaches us about "Ragnarock", the Norse Apocalypse and how it applies and translates to our own "Snowgnarock".
This week we are very proud to have had Sounders GM and part owner, Adrian Hanauer on the show. Adrian is always great to talk to and staying true to his form he gives us lengthy and insightful answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. He has some interesting things to say about the drafts, colleges, and academies, and why they may not be such a bad thing. We are truly thankful for Adrian's time. He was very "graceful" to give it. He also shared with us that the new salary cap hit for Designated Players will be $350,000 this year.
We also talk about the super and supplemental drafts, new signings, and who of those signings might make the permanent roster.

Nos Audietis Episode 36: Sounders So Far Enjoying The Silly Season

Happy New Year! We hope all of you had a great holiday season and are getting even more excited for the 2012 Sounders Season.
The "Silly Season" is now in full swing and the end of 2011 was just heating up with all kinds of rumors and new signings for the Sounders and we think that's just the beginning. In the next few weeks we have the Superdraft and the Florida combines to look forward to as well as potential other signings from around the world. Most importantly, it's just over 2 short months until the first official match of the year when the Sounders host Santos Laguna of the Mexican Primera División on March 7th to kick off the CONCACF Champions League quarter-finals.
This week we interview new Generation Adidas signing Kelyn Rowe. Sounders technical director Chris Henderson says, "Great player. Grew up here. Come on strong in last 18 months to year. He’ll be a guy who goes in top 5 spots in draft. At moment we’re outside of that."
Kelyn is a current member of the U-20 US Men's National team, and was 2010 Pac-10 Freshman of the year for his contribution to the success of the UCLA Bruins. A Washington native, he grew up in the same woods as Sounders midfielder Lamar Neagle (Federal Way) and he talks about his experiences abroad and his future in the MLS. You will not want to miss this interview.
More after the jump.
Nos Audietis Episode 35: Keepers, jerseys, trades, and transfers.
In the last few weeks the Seattle Sounders have lost a total of 9 players by draft, transfer, trade, retirement, and just about every other way you can think of for a team to lose a player. This week we talk about those loses and what the team will do to fill those gaps.
We have an audio clip from the December 7th press conference call with new Sounders netminder Michael Gspurning (Guh-SHPURN-ing), answering Jeremiah's question as to how long he would like to stay in Seattle. We also have the call available in its entirety here.
Michael Orr from @maofootball joins us to talk about the new Portland Timbers 3rd kit, the new Super Cyan 3rd kit of the Sounders, and other new kits from around the league.
As always we answer some of your questions. and don't forget, to get your questions answered on the show please follow @NosAudietis on Twitter!

Nos Audietis Episode 34: Addition By Subtraction

After a couple of weeks off, we're back at it! We want to thank you for your patience and as we navigate the holiday season we will most likely be on a bi-weekly schedule until closer to preseason.
This week we talk about the loss of players James Riley and Tyson Wahl. As you probably know, Riley was selected by Montreal Impact in the expansion draft and immediately traded to Chivas USA and Wahl was traded to the Impact for allocation dollars. We discuss the Sounders options at the outside back positions including potential new signings and rumors.
We also talk about the loss of Arlo White to NBC, and what kind of announcer and format we would like to see in the booth next season.
Clips from Jeremiah and Dave's end of season interview with Sounders GM Adrian Hanauer are also included this week.

Nos Audietis Episode 33: Stage 1-Denial

Well folks, season's done. I'm guessing you probably knew that, unless you blacked out sometime early last week and are just now waking up. If that's the case, sorry :(
Today's show deals mainly with our feelings on the season as a whole, the reality of being pleased with the year the team had and disappointed with the way it ended, where things go from here and some early thoughts about what the team may look like next season. We'll also talk about the CONCACAF Champions League draw and Santos Laguna and, of course, the highly controversial new "leaked" third jersey.
Also, you'll probably notice that the editing isn't quite as sharp this time around; that's because our producer and good friend Dano was unable to do his stuff this time out because he's out of town attending to a family matter. He was most definitely missed, and our thoughts are with him.
