By way of FutbolMLS, the Spanish speaking side of MLSSoccer.com, a report emerges that Levante man David Navarro has a four year offer from Seattle Sounders FC. The report seems to indicate that he would be coming here as a Designated Player.
Now, Seattle does not have a DP slot open at this time, so this rumor should be taken with some salt, maybe something a bit more potent even, but the Navarro to Sounders rumor is not new. First emerging in late June he is the Levante player rumored to come to the Sound most often in the post Obafemi Martins saga world. Navarro is also not a free.
The MLS secondary transfer window closes on August 8th 2013. GM Adrian Hanauer recently told Nos Audietis that the club was looking to add one or two significant players to the roster. This would qualify, though figuring out the roster calculus may be a bit difficult.
Two other rumors dropped over twitter today as well. The first is rather vague, but that makes it more likely to be true.
Sergio responded to a question as to whether that meant Seattle was going after a DP to say he didn't know.
The other is a "go home twitter you're drunk" kind of thing and included for the pure joy of life.
I never do ITK but I'm calling 2 moves because of a very trusted source. Dempsey & Forlan will move to the MLS.— Football Paradise (@Football_P) July 23, 2013
Dempsey will move to Seattle Sounders FC. Forlan's destination is unknown but he will end up in the MLS.— Football Paradise (@Football_P) July 23, 2013
The only thing that is clear is that if Seattle had DP spots open the rumors would be even more wild.
