Weekend Preview

This is just a quick preview of the upcoming weekend from the blog and soccer sense.

First, tonight is the USL Sounder home leg of their playoff round against the Montreal Impact. The Impact just played a CONCACAF Champions League Match back in Quebec and on short rest come to Starfire. Tickets are only 15$ walk-up so give them a chance if you have some extra cash and don't feel like watching the Presidential Debate. Or you can watch at USLlive.com for $5.95, which is robbery for a single game price.

In MLS this weekend every game matters as every team still has a shot at the playoffs, even if it is as low as TFC's 3%. So watch the game on FSC Saturday evening, because you will see a battle that helps determine the playoffs, and you will be supporting the future league of Sounders FC.

This weekend I will be posting on the following subjects

- Rumors of an expanded Designated Player Rule, the impact of DPs, and the use of international slots to fuel the need for speed in Rave Green next year.

- A look at a different Asian star in the making that would fit the style of Seattle Sounders FC. This would be in similar lines as my previous post on Mining the Premiership Bench for Talent. There will likely be video with this one though.

- American ownership in the English FA and how that effects the growth of the American game, the relationship that this has to the Expansion prospects for 2011.

- Lastly the silly notion that we need a single table and can somehow have a league of national stature in light of the already troublesome schedule. Currently the polling at Sounders FC's website is basically tied at 39% for both 3 conferences and for a single table. Though tied, only one side is right.

So I look forward to reading your responses over this weekend of quality soccer
