Chelsea Going Green

This is NOT a game related story. It is not about the match on July 18th where Qwest will be Rave and Blue. It isn't about money, and it isn't about the latest rumors from the EPL.

It is about a team that has commitments to going green, a model which Sounders FC could easily copy. A model which should lead many teams to do follow.

Chelsea FC was just awarded the Greenest Football Club in London by the Mayor. The Mayor's plan should seem rather familiar to Seattle readers, for it is what our Mayor talks about nearly every day.

The most intriguing thing to me about the Chelsea plan is that they provide free public transit to select away matches, now there are really only two cities that will have MLS soon where it makes sense for Seattle, but it still certainly makes sense.

Lighting, water reduction and recycling efforts are the focus. These simple changes could easily help, and are things that the Sounder community obviously favors.

If this is an issue of importance for you and you have a vote for the Council left, I need TWO more people. Vote Here.
