When a String of Comments is Worth a Whole Post

Yesterday I was working to get people revved up about our Sounders and do whatever it is we need to do to beat the stupid Bring Back the Sonics people to get our boys a song.

(Before you go any further in this post, go here and vote. Then come back for the rest of the post.)

I pointed out that the system was set up to allow only one vote per IP address. Carlos set me straight, thus starting what I'm pretty sure is one of the best fan comment strings ever.

Actually, voting is cookie based. To vote multiple times, you have to close the page, delete your cookies, and then when you return to the page you should be able to have your vote count again. I know this because I personally took the vote from 776 to 800 last night before my cold forced me to bed. It can be a little cumbersome, but if multiple people are doing it, we should be able to make up the difference.

Now you see, Carlos, I’m not nearly devious enough to figure this stuff out on my own. This is why I’m so glad I have you guys!!!

Thanks to Carlos’ research, I’ve come up with a genius method to bump up the votes. I’ve done it 50 times already, and I’m going to keep going until the lead is healthy!
For those who want to help, you’ll need Safari, so people with macs should step up! You can use any browser with private browsing (aka "porn" mode), but Safari’s implementation is easiest to use:
1) Set your homepage temporarily to the poll’s url.
2) Activate "Private Browsing Mode." Private browsing makes cookies completely temporary, so each tab or window has its own set of cookies. Each time you close a tab it’ll also delete all the cookies and history of that tab (see why it’s called porn mode? ;p).
3) Open a new tab, vote, open a new tab, vote, and repeat!

It figures that as soon as I post that, it stops working for some reason.
I’m going to figure this out though! We’re close.

And my female readers are now going, "HUH?!?"
But my male readers are going, "Oh! Okay!"

Are these guys just the best fans ever or what? This is Seattle, folks! (And everybody knows soccer fans are more technically proficient than basketball people!) By combining our brains, I'm sure we can work this out!

Anybody with more hints, leave them in the comments.

P.S. I am, of course, not one to condone cheating. But does it say anywhere that there is just one vote per person? No, it does not. It may be implied by the technology used, but let's get real here. Anybody in this town who relies on technology to do their job for them deserves what they get.
