What is good enough for you?

This year we witnessed a stumbling start, a torrid middle ten and a good final 10 in the regular season. They passed the 2009 win and point totals, but not by much. Two more wins, one more point, but a goal differential five worse. A second straight first round exit from the MLS Cup Playoffs.

The team appeared in the CCL, but didn't really do more than appear scoring 8 versus 12 in both Prelims and the Group Stage for an overall 2-1-5 record. The team generally underwhelmed on the road, and was at least valiant at home.

In US Open Cup play the Sounders continue to impress. The back-to-back trophies are the first for an MLS side. Seattle's success goes back four years now and 3 Sounders have been player of Cup in past four seasons.

Seattle was competing for three trophies in 2009 and captured one. They then had to go for four trophies in 2010, and again captured one.

2011 will be another four trophy attempt.

Will one be enough? Does overall standing in regular season matter if without the Supporters Shield? Does the team have to win the Open Cup for that tournament to be enough?

Simply, was 2010 a "success?"
What will make 2011 a "success?"

What are your minimum standards in each tournament - regular season, MLS Cup Playoffs, US Open Cup and Champions League?
