Statistics to back you away from the ledge

On a casual Friday afternoon I'm cruising around looking for a little bit of direction, a slightly different angle. Maybe something that might carry some meaning. I haven't found that, but I have found some unique stats so far this year, and yes small sample size and lack of correlation almost certainly exists.

Seattle has given up 1 Goal during the run of play.

Sounders are pacing for 12 wins, 12 ties and 6 losses for 48 points with a +12 Goal Differential. That would be an improvement on last season.

Only five MLS sides have more assists than goals scored. MLS does use the secondary assist as a way to credit overall ball movement, but it should be noted that these top teams by A:G ratio are five that at the beginning of the season you would likely think would be contenders for major trophies. Seattle has 8 A on 7 G, as do Real Salt Lake and Los Angeles Galaxy though both have only played 4 games. Houston has 7 A on 6 G in four as well. The Fire have 6 A and 5 G.

Sounders have the 5th best save percentage.and 4th best GAA

Seattle has suffered 71 fouls against in 5 played. Dallas is second in fouls suffered with 63. Seattle leads by FS/Match with over 14. The Crew are second with 13.5
