The SBNhanced MLS Power Rankings are a collaborative effort by SBN's soccer bloggers to rank the MLS teams each week.

Week 8 rankings.  Updated 5/18/10

Sagarin has the Seattle Sounders FC at 9th in their overall rankings. By Points Per Match the Seattle Side is also 9th. Yet, the SBN bloggers have Seattle 10th. No one could argue that Seattle hasn't underperformed, but to be underrated means that many seemed to be overly concerned with last second stoppage time mistakes, admitted bad calls by the referees, and that damned PK.

Seattle could easily be +1 in GD with at least five more points right now. The margins are really tight in this league and 10 seconds mistakes cost playoff rankings, and in fact cost Trophies.

I have been getting to know the pattern, and the bloggers, and trust me, if you want to see a leap in ranking from the Sounders have them win by 3 goals over the San Jose Earthquakes.
