Every week the soccer bloggers on SBNation rate the teams. We don't do them by a pure ranking from 1-16, but instead by groupings based on how we expect the teams to finish at the end of the year.
Tier One is for teams that we think will be competing for one of the two MLS major trophies (MLS Cup and Supporters Sheild).
Tier Two is for teams that as of now are essentially locks for the MLS Cup Playoffs.
Tier Three is for those teams that we expect to be on the outside of Playoffs, but maybe just sneaking into them late.
Tier Four are the teams that are just bad. Those that will have a chance at the #3 draft pick, or who have no shot at the Playoffs.
Normally I fill this out after the last match of the week, but this week's match shouldn't affect a thing. The Fire aren't going to change, nor are the Galaxy.
My big question for you is what tier would you place Seattle in at this time? How much effect should the early season's bad luck, injuries and other struggles effect my vote in the power rankings? How much should the recent run of matches be taken into account?
For reference here is my vote last week and here are the Standings.
Tier One: Galaxy, RSL, Crew
Tier Two: Dallas, Red Bull, TFC
Tier Three: Rapids, Earthquakes, Fire, Dynamo, Sounders
Tier Four: Wizards, United, Chivas USA, Revolution, Union
