Sounders Top Chivas in Last AZ Friendly

New, 1 comment

In case you missed it over the weekend, the Sounders played the last friendly in the 'Big House' Training Complex in Arizona. The highlight was that sophomore David Estrada netted the winner, but more importantly, the Sounders defense earned a shut out. Video recap is below.

I am entirely befuddled as to why Roger Levesque is still playing right back. At the end of this two week camp, that makes it 3 out of 3 games that Sigi has played him there.

After one or two, games I normally wouldn't be too concerned, and just take it for Sigi's typical tinkerings. But now I'm somewhat worried and left with the impression that Sigi actually wants Roger to play there. WTF? I thought that's why we drafted Leone Cruz, but judging from Saturday's game against Chivas it seems Sigi is breeding Cruz for a central defender role. In any case, I have no idea what is going on, but in the next couple weeks hopefully the Stache will settle on a spot. I don't like that he's wandering around the field right now. It's leading me to believe we don't have a backup plan and/or that we are low on money.
