Drew Carey, Seattle Sounders Part Owner, Hints At Steve Zakuani Tribute

What started as a grassroots idea for a Steve Zakuani tribute has apparently reached the ears of ownership. Drew Carey, one of the team's minority owners, recently made this comment on twitter:

#11 cards for next #Sounders game in honor of Zakuani and his broken leg have been requested. Will keep you up to date. #forZakuaniless than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhone Favorite Retweet Reply

What form, exactly, this tribute might take is obviously very much in question. One possibility would be for the Sounders to hand out placards at the gate to every fan. Another might be simply asking fans to print something out at home. Either way, there seems to be significant potential for Sounders fans to make a pretty profound statement at next Saturday's game against Toronto FC.

The tribute would likely be similar to the one Sounders fans made to Charlie Davies after he was injured in a car accident in 2009.
