Though the Sounders are off until the weekend, there's a lot going on in the US soccer world this evening.
- Four MLS teams are vying tonight for US Open Cup spots. The Philadelphia Union and DC United square off to earn the right to face New England in the next round of qualification. Both teams brought their starters, showing a rapid rise in respect for the Cup (though Colorado didn't get the memo). No video, but there's a live blog at thecup.us. Also playing starters are Sporting KC and the Houston Dynamo. That game has a video feed.
- In the CONCACAF Champions League, two top Mexican clubs are competing for the right to face Real Salt Lake in the final. Monterrey (who the Sounders will remember from their group) have a one goal lead going into the second leg versus Cruz Azul. The match is being streamed on CONCACAF TV, which requires a registration but is free
- Later, the US U-20 team (which features no Sounders players nor any players from Cascadia. Boo.) will play in a Quarterfinal match in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship versus hosts Guatemala. That'll also be on CONCACAF TV.
- And finally there's MLS action tonight with the Vancouver Whitecaps taking on the New England Revolution in front of a home crowd certain to still be buzzing from the ridiculous comeback this weekend versus Sporting KC. It looks like it won't be blacked out on MatchDay Live. And it's presumably on Direct Kick.
Updates: The US U-20 match is also on ESPN3, if you get that. The team needs to win to make the U-20 World Cup this summer. Looking dominant so far, but no goals. Also, the Houston roster definitely wasn't starters, and the soccer gods punished them for it.
