Kitsap Pumas Advance To Face Seattle Sounders In Third Round Of US Open Cup

When the Pete Fewing led Kitsap Pumas beat the Real Colorado Foxes 3-1 tonight over in Bremerton a derby may have been born. Jeremiah re-christened it the "Kaleetan Derby" after one of the ferries on the route. As West Sound and Seattle meet to advance from the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Third Round next Tuesday over in Starfire. As noted earlier today, this is going to be a short turn around for Seattle, but at least they are at home. Tickets go on sale at 10AM at both box offices and via Ticketmaster. There will be a webcast at as well. Seattle is now going to play 3 matches in 6 days. Lineup juggling anyone?

Bryan Meredith has a knock that has kept him out of goal in the First Round, but returned tonight to start. The Seattle Sounders draft pick only gave up one goal, and that as an own goal from a teammate. Robby Christener had a brace, and Cameron Hepple scored in the first half of the 3-1 win.

Those entered in our US Open Cup Pick'em contest will have to wait as the Chicago Fire Premier and Madison 56ers will need a replay due to severe weather in the upper Midwest. Heavy thunderstorms with lighting led the match to being called.
