Trialist Myron Samuel To Appear In Reserve Game Tonight

When SoundersFC.com says that a trialist is not just in camp but going to play in a Reserve Match (7pm, Starfire, Free) it leaves the land of rumor. Matt Gaschk introduces Myron Samuel of St. Vincent and Grenadines not just Cillian Sheridan of the earlier post here. Samuel is 18 and already has a handful of CAPs for the small island's national team. St. Vincent failed to qualify for the current Gold Cup, but did advance out of their opening group in the 2010 CFU Championship.

Gaschk describes Samuel as a midfielder/forward (similar descriptions would befit Mauro Rosales and Steve Zakuani). The island leagues tend to be light on defense, and high and goals. Avenues United most recently won their national league and made the second round of the 2010 CFU Club Championship, the first time a club from St Vincent has made the regional competition in over a decade.  Samuel scored in the final group stage match to have the club advance. He scored three goals total in that competition. For a team in need of wing play he seems intriguing.

From our learnings pre-season it is likely that he either already has a Discovery Claim attached, or that the Sounders have made an offer in the U-25 roster segment at 32,000$. During tonight's Reserve match (live blogged here) pay attention to how Myron Samuel looks, post game we will ask those that watched them play to open source scout the player.
