Major League Soccer's official website (MLSFootballFutbolSoccer.com) today launched a soccer almanac covering the previous 15 years of the league. At first I thought their infographic on the number of trophies won was the highlight. It was solid to see the Seattle Sounders with two in two years, and just stunning to see DC United's MLS 1.0 success.
Later one would notice that Arlo White is recognized as the best local announcer. Sure, it was based on an Internet vote and we know that Seattle owns the Internet, particularly in regards to MLS. But it gets better, at least for fans of SB Nation and Sounder at Heart.
Jeremiah Oshan was recognized as the #10 MLS journalist on twitter. There was no campaigning for this award - not here, not by he nor I on twitter, facebook nor at the SBN/soccer page. The list is a who's who of American soccer journalists. Joshua Mayers (5th) is the other local on the list. While Steve Davis (6th) of DailySoccerFix, Sports Illustrated * MLSSoccer.com is another SBNer who makes the cut.
So a huge congratulations to Mr Oshan who has grown from secondary writer here to become a dominant force in the soccer media landscape. I'm proud to work with him.
