David Tenney on Sounders advanced training tech

Great interview with Sounders conditioning coach gives some insights into how they have discovered and applied advanced technology to fine tune training and recovery to optimize game day performance. Tenney credits HRV (heart rate variability) with helping Alonso avoid late season quad strains and Riley never got fatigued according to the data. And this little tidbit on unexpected benefits from summer friendlies with top clubs: We noticed there were some European teams coming though Seattle for pre-season, who used what I would call a scientific approach to training, and were starting to figure out how to use it with the OmeagWave program. After coming by your facility, and seeing the information we were able to get from it, I decided it was an investment in improving how we prepare our athletes.
