Sounders vs. FC Dallas: Gamethread

FC Dallas could be out of it by the time this game kicks off, but that won't likely play a role in today's tactics.

By the time this game kicks off, this game could lose a lot of its luster. If the LA Galaxy lose and the Vancouver Whitecaps win, FC Dallas will be eliminated and the Sounders will only need a tie to avoid the No. 4 playoff spot.

But even if that happens, there's still plenty of reason for the Sounders to put out their best. The big reason is that the Sounders still can put themselves in good position to make the 2012-13 CONCACAF Champions League. To do that, they'll need to win out in and still would need a bit of help. D.C. United currently sits four points up with one fewer game played and the Chicago Fire are also three points up. Finishing in the top 4 is basically a must if the Sounders hope to have any chance at making Champions League.

Beyond that, the Sounders are still looking to find their form as they head into the playoffs. Getting Eddie Johnson, Fredy Montero, Mauro Rosales and Christian Tiffert on the same page is going to be imperative and that starts tonight.

Consider this your gamethread. We'll have lineups as soon as we get them.
