Osvaldo Alonso Makes Best XI

What's been known for years here in Seattle is finally recognized by MLS. The HoneyBadger is one of MLS' best.

In most years Major League Soccer's Best XI ignores defensive minded midfielder. Last year, with five mids named to the XI, none were recognized. This year Osvaldo Alonso makes the Best XI. While the Honey Badger may not care, it seems right and just that MLS recognizes the utility of the role and Alonso's success at it.

Of course, the over formation is a 3-1-3-3 which would never be seen in this league.

The full Best XI is;

Jimmy Nielsen, Victor Bernardez, Matt Besler, Aurelien Collin, Landon Donovan, Osvaldo Alonso, Chris Pontius, Graham Zusi, Robbie Keane, Chris Wondolowski & Thierry Henry

The Seattle Sounders defense may have been second best, but it looks like the league overall gives Alonso all the credit as the best defense in MLS put their keeper and two defenders on the list (also have Zusi). San Jose and LA both have two players while DC and New York join Seattle with one.
