With MLS First Kick for the Sounders on Saturday March 2nd they will have a traditional Wednesday date for the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals match. At 7 PM Pacific on March 6th Seattle Sounders FC will face UNAL Tigres in Monterrey, Mexico.
Leg two will be at CenturyLink Field with a 7 PM kickoff on Tuesday March 12th. The winner of the quarterfinals will face the winner of Santos Laguna v Houston Dynamo in the semis. The club that wins this cycle of the CCL will advance to the 2013 Club World Cup in Morocco.
The Sounders will have a bye in week two of the 2013 MLS season off in order to ease their early season burden from CCL play. Recent studies show that midweek games reduce chances at victory in league play, though the Sounders exceed those numbers historically.
