The South Sound team that will bridge the gap between the Seattle Sounders Academy system and the Seattle Sounders FC announced their schedule, home stadiums, season tickets and coaching staff this week during the build-up to the MLS match against the Dynamo. The Sounders U23 currently will be using two home stadia - Cheney Stadium and Franklin Pierce High School. Matches at Cheney will be some of the fiercer rivalries with an early match against the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency team on May 30th at 6 PM. On June 15th at 7:30 PM the Kitsap Pumas will cross the bridge and compete at Cheney. Season tickets will start at $80 for the eight regular season games.
Joining Darren Sawatzky coaching the Sounders U23s are familiar names to South Sound soccer. Mike Jennings is the club's original founder, technical director and now also an assistant coach. Jason Prenovost also joins the staff. His previous experience is as the coach of Highline Community College. Former Sounder Ben Dragavon is the goalkeepers coach.
