OK, gosh, I get it. I know, I'm horrible. Yeesh, quit it already.
So I haven't been entirely present during the offseason. I know, I've been busy. And yeah, there has been quite a bit going on in my own life. And maybe there's also a teensy bit of resentment towards the current *cough* owners of the The Offside.
Anyways. Just like all of you, I have been following the latest team news, and I love it.
In any case, I'm not here to really say anything meaningful. I'll make a prediction or two, but it's mostly meant for myself to get some momentum going to get back into season form. I'm out of shape, and I got tons going on. But, I gotta start somewhere.
Let's get to it.
MLS Cup: Sounders or LA
Shield: NY
USOC: Sounders
CONCACAF: Seattle over LA, then I have no clue
Seattle MVP: Fredy
Points: 72+
Newcomer award: EJ and Sivebaek
Benchwarmer award: split between Ochoa and OBW
Stepping up: Estrada, and Brad Evans
Best Underdogs/Surprise: Vancouver Whitecaps, in the playoffs
Spoon of Wood:Timbers, duh
I'm basically pulling all of this out of my ass. It's all meaningless. Don't take this seriously.
But in my opinion, I think this is going to be the best year yet for Sounders FC, and for MLS. This is probably the most complete and most prepared Sounders team to date. But, the same can be said for much of the competition.
That said, I think we can definitely win more than two trophies this year. The only thing stopping that will be injuries. If Eddie Johnson and Brad Evans can keep injury time to just 2 weeks max, then this team is a winner.
Preview, done!
