This week is definitely a feel-good show. Of course, we talk about the Seattle Sounders' 1-0 win over the Colorado Rapids on Saturday. That win brings the Sounders to 3-1-1 on the season and gives them 10 points through five matches, the best start in franchise history. On top of that, they managed to do it with several significant absences.
But the fun doesn't end there. Our guest this week is someone you may not yet have heard of, but probably will in the coming months. Her name is Kate Deines (@KateDeines2) and she's playing center back for the Sounders Women. Unlike her more famous teammates, she leads a pretty normal life as a recent college UW graduate. She has a regular day job, needs roommates to help pay the rent, needs to find time to squeeze in workouts and practices at night like any good co-rec player would.
Where she's different -- and why she should be interesting to you -- is that she's a pretty awesome soccer player who could well find herself in the United States national team picture if breaks go her way. She was also a very good sport in our interview and she even stuck around to answer questions from Twitter.
Speaking of which, why aren't you following @nosaudietis on Twitter? We only have about 500 followers and we know there are a lot more of you listening. Follow us so you can get your questions answered AND read all kinds of snarky comments about the Timbers, MLS and the world in general. Special thanks to Dave Clark for choosing this week's intro music.
