The Seattle Sounders are still relatively stable in the SB Nation MLS power rankings. But they are one of the rare teams for that to be true. As teams like the San Jose Earthquakes, Houston Dynamo and Vancouver Whitecaps shoot up, others are in free fall. While none were particularly high on the Philadelphia Union to start the season, they are still falling overall. The LA Galaxy's preseason advantage is rapidly fading as voters seem to want results.

Fact is that outside the top three there is a ton of variance right now. Toronto, Chivas and Montreal are the only teams without a vote in the top 10. A whopping eight teams have a double digit spread between their highest and lowest votes. Even more (11) have votes within the top four. Some preconceptions are getting squashed and others are confirmed.
