There really isn't much reason to complain when your team is pulling out results and playing basically every three days. The Seattle Sounders did that again on Saturday, beating the Philadelphia Union 1-0 on Saturday.
In this case, though, the scoreline wasn't really indicative of the play, anyway. The Sounders outshot the Union 19-6 and hit the crossbar twice. Fredy Montero easily could have scored two or three goals if luck were more on his side and the Sounders probably could have scored five.
More importantly, they are off to a 6-1-1 start and have 19 points through seven games. They've never started like this before, and while it has been a very home-heavy schedule, they are exactly where they want to be. It's not even out of the realm of possibility that they could be the Supporters' Shield leaders by this time next week -- and they wouldn't even have to win both of their games, as crazy as that may seem.
In general, it was a highly enjoyable day at CenturyLink. Hopefully, it becomes a habit.
