Today's Sounders U23 v Sounders FC scrimmage saw both Steve Zakuani and Josh Ford get time on the field. As of today's MLS Injury Report both are moving towards healthy on the four step report. David Estrada's injury in practice does not make the report.

SEATTLE SOUNDERS FC -- OUT: FW Babayele Sodade (R knee ACL tear); DOUBTFUL: GK Michael Gspurning (R hip strain); DF Patrick Ianni (lower back pain); DF Leo Gonzalez (L quad strain); DF Adam Johansson (R hamstring strain); MF Steve Zakuani (R leg fracture); QUESTIONABLE: GK Josh Ford (R knee stress fracture)

A Seattle Sounders FC spokesman has confirmed that Ford is still on the short-term Injured List. Zakuani was never on the list. His time may come soon. As he said after his Reserve performance, when he comes back it will almost certainly be as a sub.

In today's team release of quotes from Sigi Schmid the coach talked about Ford and Zakuani;

"It was good. It was the first time Josh has been able to jump into a game situation for us. Obviously he got scored against but it was a good goal. He did alright. He handled stuff well. Steve did alright. There was a little more defensive work for him because his team didn’t have the ball as much, so that was good. He got into it a little bit with Zach Scott and Jeff Parke, so that’s good for him as well."

As Seattle enters another tight period of high travel it will be important to have as many healthy bodies as possible. Today's news can only be good.
