Kirk Urso Passes

In middle of the night Columbus Crew midfielder passed away. The cause of death for the 22 year old are not yet known, but many in the MLS community are simply stunned. During tonight's two league matches there will be a moment of silence to honor Urso.

It isn't common for sports leagues to lose active players this way. With only one meeting against the Crew and Urso being injured for much of the season many in the stadium won't know who he was. Learn about Kirk, so that when that moment happens you can lead the respect given and answer the questions later. He was the captain of North Carolina when they won the title in 2011 and played on the U-17 United States National Team.

Urso wasn't a Sounder, but he's still a part of this broader community of soccer in the USA. Twenty-two is much too young for his participation to be gone forever.
