Sounders Centric Power Rankings - Statement Noticed

When Seattle went on that winning streak to start the season there was latency. It was Sporting Kansas City that got the most early love. Then as the San Jose Earthquakes shook things up, Seattle plummeted. Now, the Sounders are in a lossless streak (3-0-3 +6 in MLS) and there's still some latency. But the Sounders are at their highest average rankings of the past ten weeks, but there's still room to improve.

Real Salt Lake is still ahead of Seattle, but not by a significant amount. There's still the pesky Quakes churning out results. San Jose isn't solely in first, some have even dropped them down to third. The Dynamo are getting some respect for their strong results. There are voters still ranking Houston as low as eighth, with RSL, KC and Seattle all popping into first. In fact that tier of teams SB Nation's Power Rankers see as competing for the title is seven deep (Quakes, Dyanmo, RSL, Sounders, Sporting, Red Bull, United) as all are ranked as high as third by someone.

The Cascadia rivals continue to be different. Norther neighbors Vancouver Whitecaps are generally seen as good, not great. They'll almost certainly be in the Playoffs, but few expect magic from British Colombia. Then there's Portland. They didn't get 100% of votes for 19th place, a few people think a home draw against also awful Dallas is a positive. Which it probably is for the Timbers...
