The big news this week was the return of Steve Zakuani to the Seattle Sounders' starting lineup. Zakuani was in the starting lineup exactly 500 days after he had his leg snapped by a reckless Brian Mullan tackle and didn't look much worse for wear. Aaron and I come away believing he's much closer to being full strength than we suspected he'd be after he picked up an assist in Sunday's tie against FC Dallas.
That was only half the Sounders' action for the week, though. Their other game was a win over Caledonia that puts them in very strong position to advance to the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals for a second straight year. Fredy Montero scored ... again. Sammy Ochoa scored ... again. Alex Caskey scored ... and really acted like he'd been there before.
To help us take another look at Chivas USA, we brought on Alicia Rodriguez (@soccermusings) of The Goat Parade. Despite interviewing someone about the Goats as recently as two weeks ago, we still had plenty new stuff to talk about, namely the total implosion of their defense.
As always, we also take your questions. We also announce the winner for our contest to nickname the quartet of Fredy Montero, Eddie Johnson, Mauro Rosales and Christian Tiffert.
