The US returns to World Cup Qualification to take on their toughest Group A rivals Jamaica. It's the first of a doubleheader against the Reggae Boyz with the return leg in 4 days in Columbus. A win in Kingston would be the most important result in group play as it'd put the US in comfortable position to win the group.
Coming off a shock win in a friendly in Mexico, the US has to feel pretty good about their chances against a substantially less talented Jamaica side, but the US has never won in Kingston (so better-researching researchers have told me anyway).
The game is on BeInsPoRt1OneUSA or whatever, which is apparently available on the satellite networks but will only be on Comcast on replay.
A weirdly large number of the Jamaicans play for our Cascadian rivals (Dane Richards and Darren Mattocks for Vancouver, Donovan Ricketts and Lovel Palmer for the Timbers), so I guess that's some extra motivation to get one over on them.
USA Lineup: Howard; Parkhurst, Goodson, Cameron, Johnson; Jones, Beckerman, Edu, Dempsey; Altidore, Gomez.
